Job Summary Piper Fire Protection is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter to install, modify, and repair fire sprinkler systems while ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and delivering high‑quality workmanship.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Install, modify, and repair fire sprinkler systems in compliance with NFPA and applicable fire codes.
Accurately measure, cut, and assemble piping and components using appropriate tools.
Demonstrate working knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and meet a high standard of workmanship.
Work independently and complete assigned projects without supervision.
Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Stay current with industry standards, NFPA codes, and emerging technologies.
Interpret inspection reports, product specifications, O&M manuals, drawings, blueprints, and fire codes.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including company vehicle, and adhere to all safety policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
4+ years of fire sprinkler installation experience.
Strong knowledge of NFPA and applicable fire codes.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
Basic understanding of measurements and ability to interpret technical documents.
Proficiency with electrical and mechanical tools (saws, wrenches, cutting torches, drills, pipe threaders, lifts, ladders, and motor vehicles).
Skilled in operating a pipe threading machine.
Strong commitment to safety practices and compliance.
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate written and electronic documentation.
Effective communication skills when interacting with clients and team members.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates, construction or low‑voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces. Personal protective equipment may be required. Some roles may require travel.
