The Press Brake Trainee supports the fabrication team by learning to operate press brake equipment safely, efficiently, and accurately. This entry‑level role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to develop skills in metal fabrication. The trainee will gain hands‑on experience in setting up, running, and maintaining press brake operations to produce high‑quality parts that meet customer specifications. Responsibilities

Learn to operate press brake equipment to bend, form, and shape sheet metal to specification. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, job orders, and production paperwork. Assist with machine setup, including selecting tooling, adjusting back gauges, and ensuring proper material alignment. Measure and inspect finished parts to verify dimensions and quality requirements using measurement tools. Support routine machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure equipment remains in safe working condition. Follow standard work instructions, quality standards, and safety protocols at all times. Assist in staging material, loading/unloading parts, and organizing workstations for efficient workflow. Work collaboratively with operators, engineers, and production leads to resolve issues and improve processes. Communicate any equipment malfunctions, material defects, or safety hazards promptly. Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in machine operation. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job orders. Familiarity with measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers. Experience with hand and power tools used in a metal fabrication shop (preferred). Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Reliable, adaptable, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
