Our distribution center in Detroit, Michigan, is seeking a reliable Order Picker to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking customer orders, ensuring that the right products are selected and prepared for shipment. You will use scanning devices and pick lists to locate items, assemble orders, and contribute to the overall workflow. A strong commitment to Safety is paramount, and you will be required to follow all warehouse protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent Lifting of items up to 40 pounds, standing, walking, and bending throughout your shift. Experience with RF scanners and warehouse management systems is beneficial. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using RF scanners or pick lists.
- Verify product identification and quantities against order details.
- Assemble picked items into appropriate containers for shipment.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Adhere to all company Safety guidelines and procedures.
- Properly use required PPE, such as safety vests and gloves.
- Meet daily picking productivity goals and quality standards.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding order status.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the order fulfillment process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Basic understanding of logistics and inventory control.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to following Safety rules and wearing PPE.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
