Job Description
Delta Dental seeks an Associate Underwriter to perform basic underwriting functions under approved guidelines for small to mid-size businesses. This role includes learning underwriting concepts and Delta Dental’s commercial book to make sound risk and financial decisions.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive client experience analysis to provide appropriate rates based on risk assessment of smaller or less complex cases.
Collaborate with underwriting team members through the peer review process.
Advise and provide guidance to sales and internal customers on underwriting rationale.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
One year or more of experience in underwriting or a related field.
Intermediate written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate mathematics knowledge.
Detail-oriented with analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Knowledge of Current Dental Terminology (CDT) codes and dental nomenclature is preferred.
Base Pay Information Pay Grade 16. $45,400 - $95,000
