Job Summary The Carrier Placement Specialist will manage and execute key components of new business and renewal processes for insurance accounts. Responsibilities include overseeing timelines, conducting exposure analysis, preparing quote specifications, negotiating coverage terms, and presenting comprehensive proposals to clients. The role requires close collaboration with Client Advisors, Account Service Teams, and carrier partners to ensure high‑quality service delivery and seamless communication.

Responsibilities

Maintain timelines and processes during new business and renewal activities, including exposure analysis, quote specifications, coverage offer negotiation, and proposal presentation.

Communicate effectively within the team environment and with carriers.

Review insurance policies and contracts and recommend improvements.

Prepare property and casualty insurance submissions for new business prospects and renewing accounts, including specifications, Acord applications, loss summaries, prospect profiles, and exposure schedules.

Analyze excel spreadsheets of prospect exposure and loss data; develop financial models for loss‑sensitive programs when necessary.

Maintain familiarity and working relationships with various insurance companies and wholesalers.

Handle confidential and non‑routine information with discretion.

Rate policies in carrier systems, when applicable, to assist in quoting and proposal development.

Abide by and maintain all licensing requirements, including continuing education.

Attend seminars, company meetings, carrier events, and educational activities to improve product knowledge.

Perform coverage gap analysis and deliver strategic coverage recommendations tailored to each client’s risk profile.

Work independently and with a team on special, non‑recurring, and ongoing projects.

Engage Risk Resources for specialized expertise and collaborate on tailored solutions for complex client needs.

Requirements

Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Capable of working with minimal supervision and accepting directions for assignments.

Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and Word.

Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.

Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.

Strong attention to detail to ensure document accuracy.

Effective team member with strong customer service orientation.

Experience with a broker/agent, including marketing large middle‑market accounts to carriers; excellent knowledge of the markets.

Strong knowledge of basic applicable insurance coverages.

Proficient in creating proposal presentation documents as required.

Required Qualifications

3–5 years of relevant insurance experience, emphasizing middle‑to‑large market placements.

Must currently hold a Property and Casualty insurance license.

Preferred Qualifications

College degree preferred.

Professional designation (CRM, CISR, CIC, AAI, ARM, CPCU) preferred.

Experience with Epic systems is a plus.
