Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet at Ryder in Savannah, Georgia.

Hourly Pay: $27.50 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to a maximum of $700
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)
Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: Second Shift, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred)
Basic tools required
Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
Two or more years of classroom training and/or work experience in required areas (preferred)
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
Must be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire
Pass a Ryder drug test
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
Execute preventive maintenance procedures
Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable
Identify root causes of basic failures and perform required repairs
Replace defective components as instructed
Carry out facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers and drivers to determine nature of complaints when assigned a task
Use shop management system and electronic documentation tools
Comply with all federal, provincial, and corporate safety, DOT, and MOT guidelines
Perform additional support duties as required to support operations (e.g., service island support)
