Position Description

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Waterbury, Connecticut. Contact: Call William or Text "Waterbury T2" to 904-541-8565. Compensation

Hourly Pay: $25.00 per hour Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained (up to $700) Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter Sign On Bonus: $1,250 after 30 days and $1,250 after 90 days Tool Box/Tool Allowance Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF Hours: First Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Benefits

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Vocational or Technical Certification or Post-Secondary Degree (preference) Basic tools, required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work (required) Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred) Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred) Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire if not already possessed Pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT Physical, Ryder Road Test, and background check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years Important Note

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections and repairs Perform preventive maintenance Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable Identify root cause of basic failures and perform required repairs Replace defective components as instructed Perform facility maintenance duties Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint when assigned a task Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT) Perform other support duties as required, including but not limited to Service Island support Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
