Position Description

We are immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Albany, New York. The role supports a second shift, Monday–Friday (weekends off).

Compensation & Bonuses

Hourly Pay: $33.28 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE certification, up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)

Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days

Tool Box/Tool Allowance

Second Shift: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or technical post‑secondary degree or certifications (preferred)

Basic tools required

Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)

Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience (preferred)

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)

Must obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire

Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background, and motor‑vehicle check (last 3 years)

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Carry out standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections and repairs

Complete preventive maintenance tasks

Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer where applicable

Identify root cause of failures and perform necessary repairs

Replace defective components as instructed

Maintain facility tasks

Interact with customers/drivers to determine complaint nature

Use Shop Management System and electronic documentation

Follow federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Perform other support duties as required, e.g., Service Island support
