Director of Sales Tri-State Area
$150K–$200K Base + Commission + Benefits

Summary

An established and growing multi-state company specializing in energy management solutions is seeking a hands-on Director of Sales to lead and expand its sales function. This individual will oversee both inside and outside sales teams, ensuring strong pipeline development, revenue growth, and client relationship management. The Director of Sales will be responsible for driving strategy, mentoring sales staff, and actively participating in external meetings and presentations alongside the sales team.

This is a leadership role requiring strong management skills, proven sales experience, and the ability to operate effectively in a high-performance environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the sales department
  • Oversee Sales Managers and ensure smooth collaboration with outside sales representatives
  • Manage and support a team of inside sales representatives handling calls, presentations, rebates, and backend sales support
  • Lead, mentor, and accompany outside sales representatives (based in the Tri-State area) to client meetings and industry events
  • Drive outbound sales initiatives, develop client acquisition strategies, and expand market share
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to align sales strategy with company growth objectives
  • Monitor team performance, track KPIs, and deliver accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Maintain strong industry knowledge and represent the company with professionalism and credibility

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales leadership, including managing both inside and outside sales teams
  • Strong background in outbound and external sales (real estate or related industries a plus, but not required)
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate high-performing sales staff
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships and represent the company at the executive level
  • Results-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be based in or commutable to the Tri-State area
