The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Manistee that are seeking skilled HR Generalists. Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle recruitment for manufacturing roles, including skilled trades production operators.
Administer HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding, emphasizing safety training and company culture specific to the manufacturing environment.
Oversee performance management processes, including annual reviews and performance improvement plans.
Manage workers' compensation claims, incident reporting, and promote a strong safety culture across the plant.
Process payroll changes, administer benefits programs, and manage various leave requests.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience as an HR Generalist within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Solid understanding of labor laws and HR best practices, particularly those relevant to manufacturing operations (e.g., OSHA, shift work regulations).
Demonstrated experience in full-cycle recruitment for production and skilled trades roles.
Proficiency in employee relations, including conflict resolution and performance management.
Familiarity with HRIS systems and timekeeping/payroll processes common in manufacturing settings.
Bonus Qualifications
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety protocols.
Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) to support a diverse workforce.
Experience with time and attendance systems common in manufacturing environments (e.g., Kronos, ADP Time).
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
