Packaging Designer Job at Clarity Recruiting in New York

Our client, a handmade jewelry company, is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Packaging Designer to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role is responsible for developing innovative, visually captivating packaging that aligns with the brand’s identity and enhances the overall customer experience. The ideal candidate brings a strong aesthetic sensibility, hands-on packaging design experience, and a passion for thoughtful, functional design.

Office Policy: Hybrid

Rate: $50-55/hour, converting to 110-125k

Responsibilities

• Design compelling, customer-facing graphic programs, including ongoing trend research in graphic design.
• Partner with PD and Packaging to oversee design development and execution.
• Take a solution-oriented approach to cost engineering design.
• Present graphic concepts directly to customers.
• Collaborate closely with the Creative Director, Product Development, and Design teams to brainstorm and execute packaging concepts that reflect the brand’s storytelling and positioning
• Ensure consistency across all packaging by maintaining alignment with the brand’s visual identity, including typography, color, and graphic elements

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in packaging or product design; jewelry or luxury consumer goods experience preferred
• Strong portfolio showcasing packaging design work
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); experience with CAD or 3D modeling tools is a plus
• Exceptional creativity with a strong understanding of color, typography, layout, and material textures
• Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and practices is a plus
• Strong communication and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and brand consistency
