Construction Superintendent - Low Voltage Technology

[R] We are looking for an experienced Low Voltage Construction Superintendent (CS) to join our team. The CS will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to our quality standards. Key responsibilities include safety compliance, supervising craft workers, coordinating subcontractors, scheduling, handling materials, daily reporting, quality control, and training. Candidates should have 3 to 7 years of experience in low-voltage systems, including managing installations of communications systems, outside/inside plant cabling, and structured cabling systems. Preferred credentials include PMP or BICSI - RTPM, with additional desirable certifications like BICSI Certified Cable Installer and RCDD. Experience in security systems, audio-visual systems, and communication systems integration is required.

Responsibilities

Safety compliance and integration of safety into job planning and execution; promote accountability among staff and subcontractors.

Quality control on the project, addressing recurring issues with subcontractors or vendors.

Job planning, material handling, and site utilization planning; develop pre-job plans.

Project scheduling participation to align with job planning.

Mobilization and execution of tasks as defined in pre-job planning.

Coordinate and supervise all Company work forces on the project, including hiring/firing hourly personnel and training Foremen.

Develop and supervise Assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, Engineers, Foremen, and craft personnel.

Personnel evaluation, development, retention, and performance feedback; recommend promotions or changes as needed.

Coordinate and schedule all subcontractors; hold weekly scheduling meetings with subcontractor leaders.

Develop forms for construction methods and ensure timekeeping and cost records are maintained.

Monitor cost controls and implement changes to bring costs back within budget; expedite vendors/subcontractors as needed.

Material receiving inspection, proper signing/coding of receiving tickets.

Equipment needs planning with supervisors; manage Owner relations and meetings with Owner/Architect/Contractor teams.

Maintain positive relations with customers and neighbors as required; maintain Project Logs.

Position Qualifications

Experience managing or overseeing installation of low voltage building systems.

Electrical/Low Voltage Systems experience – 3 to 7 years.

Communications Systems Installation Supervision; Outside/Inside Plant Cabling Installation Supervision; Structured Cabling Systems Installation Supervision.

Credentials: PMP or BICSI - RTPM preferred; other desirable: BICSI Certified Cable Installer, RCDD.

Experience includes: Security Systems Integrator, Audio Visual Systems Integrator, Communication System Integrator.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or Business. Professional accreditations such as DBIA, LEED, etc.

Physical Work Classification & Demands:

Heavy work; ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 50 pounds frequently.

Work may require walking, kneeling, sitting, stooping, lifting, climbing ladders, reading blueprints, and field measurements.

Occasional exposure to high/low temperatures and to noisy outdoor environments.
