Base pay range $42.79/hr - $47.13/hr

HCLTech is looking for a highly talented and self‑motivated Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to join it in advancing the technological world through innovation and creativity.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the design, development, testing, and launch of new products including Air Cooled Chillers and Water‑Cooled Chillers as well as the improvement of products released to production.

Resolve technical challenges of moderate scope and complexity by analyzing root causes and identifying practical solutions.

Oversee the manufacturing process, ensure products are produced efficiently and meet design requirements and quality standards.

Create/modify 3D models and 2D drawings for sheet metal, piping, and complex assemblies in SolidWorks; apply GD&T, tolerance stack up, and DFM/DFA for manufacturability and cost.

Own the engineering change lifecycle: author ECRs, process ECO/ECN approvals, maintain revision control and traceability; manage releases, EBOM/MBOM structures, part classifications, and workflow in Teamcenter.

Plan and support prototype builds for chiller units, coordinate assembly instructions/fixtures, pilot runs, and supplier interfaces; de‑risk with DFMEA and stage gate deliverables, ensuring production‑ready documentation.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure seamless product realization.

Support product development and design activities in support of engineering objectives.

Develop detailed CAD/SolidWorks drawings and 3D models for mechanical systems, components, and products.

Generate and maintain accurate design documentation, including bills of materials (BOM), part specifications, and revision history.

Participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with internal standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support the implementation of designs and resolve any production‑related issues.

Analyze design intent and performance, identify potential issues, and provide solutions to optimize function and manufacturability.

Provide input during the prototyping and testing phases to validate designs and implement improvements.

Investigate and resolve manufacturing or assembly issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date engineering documentation, including design drawings, BOMs, and specifications.

Maintain regulatory approval (UL, CRN, etc.) and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards.

Required skills and qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in product engineering, preferably within the HVAC or related industry.

Proficient in engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability.

Skilled in SolidWorks and other engineering design tools.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a creative, solution‑oriented mindset.

Pay and Benefits Pay Range Minimum:

$42.79 per hour

Pay Range Maximum:

$47.13 per hour

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on the work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance‑based bonuses subject to company policies.
