Position Details

Type of Position: Full Time – 40 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $19.23 (with uncapped commission)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (NO WEEKENDS!)

Sign‑on Bonus: $2,500

Responsibilities

Deliver sales & retention results by providing exceptional customer service and exceeding monthly sales goals for strategic products such as Voice, High Speed Data, TV, Mobile, and Internet content offerings through face‑to‑face and phone interactions.

Handle moves/adds/changes/disconnect inquiries, ensuring existing customers receive timely service and are offered relevant TDS product solutions.

Follow cash‑management procedures to ensure accurate handling of customer payments and deposits.

Resolve construction‑related issues by creating and completing triage tickets.

Stay current with promotions, products, and technology to meet or exceed sales and retention goals.

Maintain retail office responsibilities: restocking supplies, unlocking/locking the office, keeping the office clean, and coordinating space use with other departments.

Assist with special projects as assigned by Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

1+ year(s) experience in a sales or customer‑service role.

2+ years of computer experience (including order applications, Microsoft Office).

Adherence to TDS attendance guidelines.

Other Qualifications

6+ months experience in a fast‑paced environment handling multiple tasks.

Ability to meet or exceed sales goals.

Strong negotiation, selling, and closing skills when reselling service to customers who are requesting disconnect.

Capacity to handle a high volume of calls in a structured contact‑center environment.

Understanding of the telecommunications industry and its products/services.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written, listening).

Problem‑solving skills (customer complaints, competitive issues).

Completion of classroom training required.

Demonstrated success in a competitive sales environment.

Willingness to work overtime with advance notice.

Ability to work a shift ending at 8:00 PM CST, potential Saturday rotation.

Experience with escalated customer issues and problem resolution, both over the phone and face‑to‑face.

Pay Transparency The base pay for this position is $19.23 per hour with additional commission, bonuses, or equity possible.
