Overview
Maintenance Superintendent - Columbus, NE The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for leading plant maintenance and supporting production operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance. This role oversees all maintenance activities, provides technical and troubleshooting support, assigns work to trades, and drives continuous improvement in equipment and practices. Works closely with plant leadership to meet safety, quality, production, and cost goals while ensuring compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations. Trains, supervises, and develops employees, manages costs, and leads the team in a positive, results-focused manner to achieve plant and organizational objectives. Responsibilities
Ensure the safety of all personnel through compliance with occupational safety and health regulations; demonstrate safety leadership through participation in all safety processes with a goal of Zero injuries. Lead Maximo implementation and utilization for purchasing, preventative and predictive maintenance. Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on priority, equipment and personnel skills. Monitor employees\' work levels and review work performance. Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs. Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation, and monitoring departmental expenditures. Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts. Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, and outside contractors. Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use. Develop a well-trained, efficient and safety-conscious team while empowering them to develop ideas for improvements in operation. Have working knowledge of Maximo and a functional understanding of CMMS. Demonstrate prior management/leadership experience. Experience with heavy industrial maintenance in a continuous improvement environment (preferred). Spend time in plant areas to understand the process; demonstrate willingness to work extended hours and on-call as required. Demonstrate troubleshooting abilities and strong communication skills. Recognize hazards and mitigate them to prevent safety, quality, or environmental incidents. Keep plant and department leaders informed of matters affecting morale and safety of hourly colleagues. Lead by example and demonstrate ADM Core Values, especially regarding safety and personal conduct. Complete necessary reports and documents during the normal course of a shift (e.g., safety, quality, environmental events/reports, production reports, permits, safety engagements). Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business or operations-related field preferred, or equivalent on-the-job experience with 5 years minimum industrial maintenance experience. Required Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams. High level of motivation and results-oriented work approach. MS Office Suite Experience with SpheraCloud, Maximo (CMMS), PolicyTech or similar applications. Accuracy and thoroughness in recordkeeping. Active participant in safety engagement activities. The pay range for this position is expected to be between $92,800.00 - $172,800.00. Salaried incentive plan and annual bonus may apply.
