We partner with manufacturers across Allegan seeking Tool Makers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities

Fabricate, repair, and modify precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures from blueprints, sketches, or CAD models. Operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment, to achieve required specifications. Perform meticulous inspections of finished tools using precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to tight tolerances and quality standards. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with existing tooling, implementing effective repair or improvement solutions to minimize downtime. Select appropriate materials for tool construction based on application requirements, considering factors like hardness, wear resistance, and cost. Collaborate with engineers and production staff to develop new tooling designs and optimize existing ones for efficiency and performance. Maintain detailed records of tool repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance activities. Recommended Qualifications

Completed apprenticeship or 5+ years of experience as a Tool Maker. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and GD&T. Expertise in operating manual and CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM). Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM). Strong understanding of various metals, alloys, and heat treatment processes. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex tooling and dies. Bonus Qualifications

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam). Experience operating advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, vision systems). Specialized welding or fabrication skills (e.g., TIG welding for tool repair). Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies. Why Pivot Group
