National General Insurance is seeking an experienced Auto Field Adjuster to join our field estimating team in the Orange County, California area. This field‑based, territory‑specific position covers areas such as Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and Santa Ana, among others. We look for a professional with experience in auto damage assessment, proficiency in CCC One estimating software, strong negotiation and time management skills, and a customer‑focused approach to deliver exceptional service.
Job Description Responsible for creating a comprehensive estimate of damages for the most complex 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to the proper disposition. This role is utilized as a peer mentor and may provide direction to junior employees having mastered our processes and obtained technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files.
Applies mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assists leadership in formal and ad‑hoc training.
Exhibits mastery estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages for the most complex 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities.
Recommends process improvements.
Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers.
Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory duties.
Compensation Base compensation offered for this role is:
Field Adjuster Cons II: $28.03 – $39.42 /hour
Field Adjuster Sr. Cons I: $35.82 – $45.58 /hour
Field Adjuster Sr. Cons II: $37.98 – $48.08 /hour
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include additional components such as incentive pay (for example, commission or bonus), if applicable.
