Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.
Foot & Ankle Territory Manager Role The Foot & Ankle Territory Manager will drive the compliant planning, direction, and oversight of key Foot & Ankle activities and strategic priorities, ensuring that all financial targets are achieved and that the business is operating in a manner that will maximize growth within a specific territory. This includes but is not limited to sales results, product launches, and education programs. As the key owner for the Foot & Ankle business within the assigned area, this role functions as a conduit between the sales and marketing organizations within the business to set direction and partner with the assigned Area Vice President(s), Regional Manager(s), Distributor(s), and Marketing on the execution of that strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Assess market trends, data and business opportunities within the assigned area within the US
Utilize data, insights, and relationships to develop a strategy and action plan and partner with Regional Manager(s), Sales Consultants, and Distributors to execute this plan
In partnership with the Regional Managers, provide clear direction, strategy, and leadership to Sales Consultants and Distributors through various communication methods to meet Foot & Ankle sales goals
In partnership with Commercial Education, lead, develop, and implement Sales Education programs for the portfolio to ensure the sales force is compliantly trained on the safe and effective use of our products and strategic selling skills
Maintain a strong internal network allowing collaboration with peers across all projects and initiatives including but not limited to R&D, Marketing, HCC, Legal and Regulatory
Identify and engage with Key Opinion Leaders
Partner with sales team to support existing users and convert competitive users
Act as a clinical liaison between the surgeons and other DePuy Synthes departments
Collaborate with Marketing and R&D on various initiatives including, but not limited to, surgeon feedback, pricing and marketing strategies
Collaborate to align on clear field messaging and facilitate two-way exchange of information between marketing and the field
Develop and communicate clear selling strategies for the field sales teams for DPM/MD/DO surgeons in conjunction with Professional Education
Provide problem resolution and support for in-field challenges where required
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required (BA/BS).
A Master’s degree (MA/MS/MBA) is highly preferred.
Experience and Skills
A valid Driver’s License in one of the fifty (50) United States is required
5+ years of Foot & Ankle and/or orthopedic experience is required
5+ years of sales experience is preferred
Previous managerial or leadership experience strongly preferred in either overseeing a portfolio and/or people management
Demonstrated ability to identify market intelligence and have a strategic mindset strongly preferred
Strong entrepreneurial skills and a natural ability to spot opportunities for revenue generation are required
Ability to work autonomously is required
Candidates must be located within 90 minutes of an airport within the assigned geography with 50-75% travel required within the US
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional presentation skills; a great facilitator
Possess a sound understanding of selling skills and DePuy Synthes global selling process
Possess strong understanding of compliance and regulatory policies and procedures and seek guidance when needed
Demonstrated expertise in our products, clinical/surgical procedural knowledge, and competitive landscape
Strong collaborative and team building skills
Effective in leading, motivating, and achieving goals through influence
Salary The anticipated base pay range for this position is $114,000 to $182,850.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
