Operational Account Manager, Freight Operations, Road US
Join DSV’s global transport and logistics team as an Operational Account Manager in the Road US division, based in Itasca, IL. The role focuses on building and growing house accounts, managing freight broker relationships, and ensuring high‑quality service for customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and maintain customer relationships via phone, email, and in‑person communication.
Negotiate rates and service terms with transportation carriers and providers.
Identify and pursue growth opportunities within the branch’s house accounts.
Investigate and establish new customer leads and opportunities.
Provide best service options and pricing to customers.
Proactively handle customer shipment requests and track shipment status.
Utilize the TMS system to input data for material movement, planning, and scheduling.
Set pricing guidelines for the Carrier Sales team and monitor shipment tracking progress.
Prepare spend reports and conduct regular check‑ins with customers (QBR/MBR).
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
3 years of experience in logistics, transportation brokerage, or related field.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Solid analytical skills in Excel.
Experience with transportation management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
College degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
5 years of experience in logistics, transportation brokerage, or related field.
Strong mathematical skills for pricing, negotiating, and project development.
Compensation Base salary $52,000 – $70,500 annually.
