Industrial Waste Sales Representatives secure accounts from existing and potential customers by prospecting and generating new business leads. This position requires cold calling on commercial accounts in the field and working with Regional outside sales staff to generate industrial waste sales as well as ensuring disposal compliance.

Responsibilities of Position

Maintenance of all current industrial waste accounts

Identifies leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business to meet and exceed established revenue goals

Establish professional internal and external customer/vendor relationships with appropriate personnel

Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations to key decision makers to close the sale

Propose customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state, and federal regulations

Utilize the company's CRM tool on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting activities, and developing prospective customer profiles

Maintain prospect information of sales territory

Ensure proper documentation for disposal compliance

Perform data entry to populate electronic sales orders via the Sales Management System (SMS)

Secure customer signatures on required Customer Service Agreements (unaltered)

Review and submit reports for accuracy and other documentation in a timely manner

Screen incoming waste streams to ensure they meet the requirements of perspective landfill and transfer stations

Initiate and follow through on all waste profiles and re-certifications

Perform credit applications on all prospective customers

Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Rumpke's services and pricing structure

Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not manage employees

Must possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills

Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals

Must present and communicate in a professional manner

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be organized with good time management skills

Possess analytical/problem solving solutions

Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field preferred

Minimum two (2) years outside business-to-business sales with a proven track record of success, required

Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies, required

Waste industry experience a plus

Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday

Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10 lbs

Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbs

Frequently working outside in changing temperatures

Continuously sitting/standing/walking

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects

Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas

Exposure to residential and commercial waste

Ability to travel between offices, as required

Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed

Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays

Legally eligible to work in the United States

Valid driver's license (if applicable)

Must successfully complete pre-employment testing

Must be able to read and speak the English language
