Job Overview
Airgas is hiring for an Inside Sales and CDL Backup Driver hybrid position in Garden City, KS.
Key Responsibilities
Build Relationships: Serve as the first point of contact for customers, guiding them to the right products.
Drive Growth: Actively engage in inside sales, helping customers assess needs, providing quotes, and solving problems.
Ensure a Smooth Operation: Keep the store running smoothly—organize merchandise, process sales, and maintain positive customer experiences.
Be a Reliable Backup: Use your Class B CDL to step in for regular drivers and deliver essential gases and welding products to clients.
What You'll Bring
Experience: At least one full year of Class A or B CDL driving experience verifiable under DOT requirements in the past 5 years, or a recent graduate from an accredited driving school.
Endorsements: Class A or B CDL with a Hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain Hazmat upon contingent offer.
Clean Record: A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is essential and at least 21 years of age.
Physical Capability: Ability to safely handle and deliver products, lifting 25‑75 lbs routinely and up to 125+ lbs with aid equipment; frequently bending, walking, standing and driving up to 8 hours a day.
Sales Platform Proficiency: Familiarity with sales platforms or the ability to quickly learn new systems such as SAP or other CRMs; basic knowledge in computer order entry systems is preferred.
