Aqua Plumbing & Air, a trusted name in Sarasota and Manatee County for over 50 years, is seeking a dedicated Lead Plumber (New Construction) to join our team. The Plumbing Lead will lead and mentor a team on commercial new construction projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety, and compliance with Florida plumbing codes.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of plumbers on commercial new construction job sites, fostering a positive and professional work environment
Oversee job site progress, communicate status updates to team members and management, and ensure project timelines are met
Ensure adherence to company performance, quality, and safety standards
Train team members on safety directives and best practices
Interpret and work from blueprints and specification sheets for rough-in and installation tasks
Install and maintain plumbing systems, including venting, water distribution, fixtures, and traps
Perform copper, PVC, CPVC, and cast-iron installations, as well as sanitary systems and venting
Complete tub sets, second rough-ins, and shower pan installations
Ensure proper heights, strapping, and support of stub-outs, and seal all openings for rodent proofing
Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues as they arise
Conduct testing procedures to ensure work passes inspections
Maintain a clean and organized job site
Perform demo and patching of concrete floors as needed
Accurately measure and perform basic math calculations, including fractions
Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or management
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in new construction plumbing
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Proficient knowledge of materials and methods used in new construction plumbing systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specification sheets
Familiarity with current Florida plumbing code
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to train and mentor team members
Own tools necessary to perform required tasks
Valid Florida driver’s license
Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally, stand or kneel for extended periods, bend, reach, climb, squat, and work in confined spaces or extreme outdoor conditions
Compensation Up to $70,000+, depending on experience.
