
Architectural Designer / Project Engineer
Full Time, Part Time - Phoenix, AZ
The Architectural Designer/Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in the architectural studio and on the jobsite, contributing to the growing portfolio of work created by E5 Design-Build. As an architectural designer/project engineer, you’ll establish a balance in design and construction responsibilities. You will build what you have designed.
Responsibilities:
Design development: cartoon a drawing set, refine the concept, develop floor plans, sections, elevations, material schedules, interior elevations and construction details
Consultant coordination: share drawings and coordinate the architecture with consulting engineers, gather consultant fees, review proposals
Construction Documents: technical build documents for permit review and construction, follow city permit application review checklists, communicate with city plan reviewer
Manage RFI’s, create and review shop drawings, subcontractor relations and jobsite management, field dailies, work in progress documentation by picture and field notes.
Qualifications:
Associates, Bachelors or Masters degree in architecture, engineering or a related field
Honorably discharged military service is a plus
Highly proficient using a tape measure, speed square, 3-4-5 squaring method, long line, chalk line, laser levels, transit levels aka “shooting in grade points”, plumb bob
Understanding the points, lines and planes of a project
Read and interpret construction drawings – architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, boundary survey
High proficiency in Sketchup, LayOut and AutoCAD
