About the role

FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required but an ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over nine years. Occupancy Verification

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send independent contractors to perform property inspections. The purpose of the property inspection is: To verify property occupation. To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only. About ten percent require interior photos after the property has gone vacant. We contract with inspectors at a county level, so you will be responsible for completing all inspections in your county. In some cases, you may share a county with another inspector if volume permits. Responsibilities

Complete inspections within four days after assignment. Report general property conditions and determine occupation based on industry standards. Take nine or more photos of the property with brief comments. Complete a short form in a mobile app. Be able to spend extended periods driving with numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory. Typical inspection takes five to six minutes. Requirements

Computer with an internet connection. Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus, as you will pay for your own gas). Smartphone (Android or iPhone). Printer. Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license. Pay and Hours

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of

Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working two to thirty hours per week. Lower‑volume counties command higher rates, whereas higher‑volume counties have lower rates. There is no set number of inspections per month, but the work is consistent from month to month.
