FAR INSPECTIONS
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send independent contractors to verify property occupancy and general condition, typically via mobile applications. Most inspections are exterior only; a minority involve interior photos after the property becomes vacant.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5–6 minutes.
Submit the inspection within four days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take nine or more property photos with brief comments.
Fill out a short form in the required app.
Drive extended periods during the day across the assigned county territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, the equivalent is about $30–$40 per hour. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you could complete 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties have higher rates; higher‑volume counties have lower rates. There is no set minimum; the work is consistent month to month, and you can earn more as you become established, have greater availability, or cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement is provided beyond the flat fee per inspection.
