Mortgage Field Services Inspector
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.
Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.
We are located in Reno, NV, and have been in business for over nine years.

What is an Occupancy Verification? The property inspection is used by mortgage lenders to verify that a property is occupied, to report on its general condition using a mobile application, and, in some cases, to take interior photos after the property becomes vacant.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of
$30–$40 per hour.
Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties offer higher rates, while higher‑volume counties offer higher output for a similar pay. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month, and you can earn more by expanding your availability or territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
Responsibilities
Most inspections are exterior only and should only take 5–6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within four days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take nine or more photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in a mobile app.
Drive extended periods of time while making numerous stops in your assigned territory.
Requirements (to be considered you must have the following)
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle – good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas.
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.
