Our CNC machining facilities incorporate the latest 5‑axis technology, including Mazak Integrex multi‑tasking centres, capable of producing complex machined cast components in aluminium, stainless steel and iron materials.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a skilled 5‑Axis CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our dynamic team.
Role Summary
Setting and operating 5‑axis CNC machines to prove out the process of new products and batch production.
Creating and editing programs online using Mazak (Mazatrol Smooth)and/or Hedienheim controls. Complex parts are generally programmed offline, and the candidate will be required to be highly competent to engineer and prove out the parts on the machine.
Performing in‑process manual measurement utilising precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometres and gauges to ensure product accuracy.
Perform routine maintenance on machines to maintain optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the machining process.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve processes and enhance product quality.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine machining operations.
About You
Qualified as a level 3 machining technician.
You will have a minimum of five years’ proven experience machining complex components in both ferrous and non‑ferrous materials.
Will have used Heidenhein and/ or Mazak 5‑axis controls. We would be interested in candidates who have also programmed offline.
Due to the complexity of cast components machined, you will have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Comfortable with proving out development parts and new methods of manufacture.
Familiarity with precision measurement instruments, such as callipers and micrometres.
Excellent reading skills for interpreting technical drawings.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Eligible to work within the UK and looking for a long‑term progressive career.
What we offer Job Type:
Full‑time, immediate start. Hours:
40 hrs per week — 07.00 am to 15.30 pm Monday to Friday. Holidays:
23 days (inclusive of bank holidays) per year. Pay:
This is a permanent position with an hourly rate of £16.00 to £20.00 per hour, dependent upon experience. Overtime paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
