At Cherokee Millwright, we are a multi-craft company that focuses on the needs of our customers by providing multi-trades personnel to meet the customer’s unique job requests. Therefore, all field employees will be cross-trained in various trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, etc. The focus of this position will be on plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products by performing the following duties. However, it will not be entirely set to this specific skillset. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products. Selects gauge and type of sheet metal such as galvanized iron, copper, steel, or aluminum, or nonmetallic material such as plastics or fiberglass, according to product specifications. Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or uses templates. Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block, and form, or straighten materials. Shapes metal material over anvil, block, or other form. Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smoothes surfaces. Welds, solders, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products. Welds metal parts together using gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes. Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding. Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints. Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications. Reports accidents, near misses, and injuries to office supervision and cooperates with investigations. Compile operational and personnel data, such as time worked, jobs worked, inventory data, equipment used, repair and maintenance information. Reports to office supervision concerns with employees’ work-related issues and provides mentoring to employees to correct job-skill deficiencies. Conduct on the job training or arrange for worker training in safety or equipment use. Additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet our customers need and will be expected. Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversees the daily work assignments of a crew of one to 12 employees. Reports to office supervision on the crew’s performance in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems and/or reporting those to office supervision for assistance. Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five+ years of experience with industrial and commercial applications. Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to operate the following equipment: Hydraulic press brake, hydraulic shear, Vulcan plasma cutting table, Pittsburg machine, TDC machine, Roller machine (three types), Hand break, Bead roller machine, Bead forming machine, Stomp shear, Magna bend, Pin spot machine, Drill press, Band saw, Plasma torch, Track torch, Mig and Tig Welders, Overhead Crane, and Forklift. Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
