Lead Carpenter is the working jobsite manager responsible for the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of the production team on MMC projects, ensuring safety, on-time completion, and client satisfaction. A working knowledge of home remodeling from demolition to finish carpentry is required.
Responsibilities
Perform carpentry tasks with the highest quality of craftsmanship within project schedules.
Lead a team of carpenters and assistants to perform remodeling tasks.
Ensure jobsite safety, cleanliness, security, and protection from the elements; maintain a daily on-site first aid kit plan.
Communicate with the Owner, subcontractors, and clients; participate in on-site meetings with the client and owner.
Manage project scope, revisions, change orders, and scheduling; communicate discrepancies to the Owner.
Maintain orderly job site paperwork (receipts, instructions, warranties) and track questions from customers.
Keep tools, equipment, and supplies neat and organized; ensure proper use of safety devices and PPE.
Be a problem solver, stay professional, and represent Mark Miller Construction LLC in all interactions.
Qualifications
At least five years of carpentry experience with thorough understanding of rough and finish carpentry and related trades.
Ability to work in a team and interact with MMC employees and clients; strong communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Own basic carpentry tools (tool belt, hammer, tape measure, utility knife, screwdrivers, chisels, chalk box, nail sets, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal English communication; good listening and ability to follow directions.
Physically fit to perform tasks in any weather; able to lift up to 100 lbs; work above 8 feet.
Senior level placement for mid-senior level role and full-time employment expectations.
Other Experience & Qualifications
Willingness to learn basic carpentry skills; production-focused work habits.
Proficiency and safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and equipment used to complete remodeling jobs.
Maintain a professional demeanor, flexibility to address customer needs, and a positive attitude.
