Job Description 1. Promote a safe, cooperative, and professional healthcare environment to ensure optimum patient care (as per HR Policy 113c). 2. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, including but not limited to absenteeism, ETIME, cellular telephone usage, dress code, and rules of conduct. 3. Prioritize customer service by treating patients, visitors, and co-workers with professionalism, courtesy, and tact. Communicate effectively about SBH services and ensure that concerns or questions are directed to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner. 4. Read and interpret block diagram blueprints and ladder diagram electrical schematics. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic components, air compressors, air dryers, PRV, supply, and branch air systems. 5. Perform preventative maintenance on all units and systems. 6. Participate in the installation of new air conditioning units. 7. Align, replace, and repair motors, bearings, couplings, sheaves, starters, and pumps. 8. Soft solder refrigerant, pneumatic, and water lines. 9. Assemble structural and functional components by screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, and brazing, including motors, pneumatic and electronic controls, switches, gauges, wiring harnesses, valves, pumps, compressors, condensers, and pipes. 10. Pump specified gases or fluids into systems; operate, observe, and adjust mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to regulate fluid levels, pressure, and temperature. 11. Dismantle malfunctioning systems, test components, replace or adjust defective parts, and repair systems. Test and treat condenser and chilled water systems, adding chemicals to maintain proper concentration levels. 12. Install wiring to connect components to electrical power sources. Use automated control systems to diagnose problems and perform repairs on air conditioning units, water coolers, split systems, heat pumps, and mixing boxes. Troubleshoot pneumatic, electronic, and line voltage controls. 13. Maintain and repair air handlers, adjusting airflow and temperature for energy efficiency and comfort. 14. Perform duties of lower-level HVACR positions as needed, including preventive maintenance, filter installation and disposal, mechanical room cleaning, parts delivery, and assisting higher-level mechanics. Qualifications High School diploma required. Three (3) years of HVAC/R trade school or five (5) years of on-the-job experience repairing commercial A/C equipment. License: CFC Universal Technician. Skills: Ability to evacuate and charge A/C and refrigeration units per EPA Clean Air Act standards. Position duration: 6-8 weeks.
