Indian Ladder Farms (ILF) is hiring a full time
Farm Manager . ILF is a century old farm located in upstate New York, 15 miles west of Albany, New York.
Farm Manager responsibilities include supervising and working alongside a small group of farm laborers year-round to plant, grow, harvest, process and sell apples, berries, plums and field crops.
Duties include managing:
Safety and quality control
H2A workers and domestic farm workers
Plant, grow, harvest, process and sell apples and some field crops.
Cider making
Wholesaling of apples
Pick your own operation
Farm equipment and building maintenance
Snow plowing
Comply with federal and state standards for growing and processing food products
Farm related paperwork
Budgeting
Weekly meetings on current work, projects and status.
Requirements:
Hold or be willing to go through the process to acquire a NYS Private Pesticide Applicator License Subcategory 22 (Fruit)
Proficiency with use of a smart phone, texting, applications
Competency with standard features of both Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
Possess excellent communication skills with staff and public
Excel in dual roles of manager and team player
Wage:
$26/hour
