Overview The ARC of Greater Hudson Valley is seeking an Employment Specialist - SEMP in Sullivan County and Orange County. The Employment Specialist provides quality supports for people to gain and maintain meaningful employment, in order to become equal and contributing members of the business community. Responsible for the provision of evidence‑based supports, accurate assessments, job task analysis, development of positive work habits/workplace behavior, to the people we are supporting, both before and during paid employment. This takes place in workplaces, classroom settings and a variety of other locations as appropriate to individual needs.
Qualifications
HS Diploma/GED
Valid Driver License
Prior experience working directly with persons with developmental disabilities preferred. Ability to anticipate needs of individuals being served and to respond quickly and skillfully in emergencies.
Ability to use a computer.
Innovations, CASE & OMH/CPI mandatory trainings must be completed within 12 months of commencement of employment.
Time management skills to complete tasks.
Flexibility, patience, resiliency, and a genuine desire to support people of all abilities and backgrounds to achieve their employment outcomes.
Shift & Salary This is a full‑time position, 40 hours a week, $18.50 per hour.
