Low Voltage Cable Technician
– POLK County, FL. Full‑time, permanent position with benefits.
Typical Duties
Install devices such as card readers, door contacts, motion detectors, intercoms, glass breakers, speakers, nurse call lights, push buttons, and patient stations.
Terminate all low‑voltage cabling.
Test, label end‑user devices and build out communication rooms.
Utilize industry standards and company‑approved installation methods.
Ensure compliance with AHJ codes and industry standards.
Follow plans, specs, and wiring diagrams.
Maintain open communication with direct superior to meet quality, performance, and schedule expectations.
Follow proper safety practices.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
2+ years in a technical role related to structured cabling, security, access control, CCTV, A/V, paging, nurse call, and sound masking.
Florida State JLA badge (Jessica Lunsford Act) obtainable.
Reliable transportation; own hand tools.
Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
Must be able to stand, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, lift in excess of 50 pounds, and work in high places and confined spaces.
Must work flexible shifts, including night and weekend work, and be able to work in inclement weather.
Physical Requirements
Climb ladders and work at heights.
Stand, kneel, and crouch for long periods.
Lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
