We are looking for experienced, energetic, responsible, and hard-working servers. Full-time or part-time hours, day or evening shifts available. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Come and join our tradition of incomparable hospitality at Lafayette Club! Job Summary: · Provide food and beverage service to club members and guests. Job Duties and Responsibilities: · Set up the side station and perform assigned (prep) work. · Provide immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating. · Ensure children are in appropriate seats and are safe and secure. · Distribute food and wine menus, and answer questions. · Fill glasses with ice water and suggest menu items. · Ensure correct account numbers and member names are given for billing. · Efficiently take orders for food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner. Offer suggestions on daily specials and wine selections. · Place orders with the kitchen; inform cooks about any special cooking instructions. · Assemble food on trays; procure items from each station as necessary. · Serve meals, placing dishes by course in front of each person. · Check back to ensure member and guest satisfaction; replenish water and butter as necessary. · Remove soiled dishes. Clear tables after each course and reset them with appropriate silverware. · Present dessert menus, suggest and serve dessert, coffee, and after-dinner drinks. · Verify accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips, and other charges on checks. · Present the bill. Handle all cash, credit card, and member account charges according to procedures. · Maintain a high level of contact with members and guests, inviting them to return and ensuring a positive dining experience. · Keep dining room and bus station areas clean. · Clear, clean, and reset tables that have been vacated. · Advise supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur. · Perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by the manager. · Attend pre-meal meetings as requested by the Dining Room Manager. · Complete and turn in signed tip declaration. · Follow local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests. · Perform other appropriate assignments and projects as required by the Dining Room Manager. Education and/or Experience: · High school diploma or GED required. · A minimum of one year of wait service experience required; fine dining experience is preferred. · Ability to read, write, and execute basic math skills required. Licenses and Special Permits: · TIPS Certification · Food Safety Certification (ServSafe or similar) · Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcoholic beverages. Physical Demands and Work Environment: · Required to stand for long periods, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and reach. · Push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds. · Continuous repetitive motions. · Work in busy and sometimes loud back-of-the-house environment.
