The World Equestrian Center – Ocala is seeking a motivated and reliable Cook III to join the culinary team at Genievieve’s, our elegant Italian dining concept located within the prestigious Equestrian Manor. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals beginning their culinary journey and eager to learn in a high-quality kitchen environment.
As Cook III, you will receive hands‑on training and support while assisting with basic food preparation, station set‑up, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. This role is a stepping‑stone for growth within the culinary team and supports the World Equestrian Center’s core values of Quality, Class, and Distinction.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with basic food prep tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients.
Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies under supervision.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
Support cooks and chefs during service with prep and plating assistance.
Participate in training sessions to develop culinary skills and station knowledge.
Assist with labeling, storage, and rotation of ingredients.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift during kitchen operations.
Comfortable lifting and transporting items up to 50 pounds.
Clear communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills And Abilities
No prior professional kitchen experience required; culinary school or food service experience is a plus.
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen safety preferred.
ServSafe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
