
Parts Specialist
– O'Reilly Auto Parts
Job Summary The Parts Specialist provides high‑level service to retail and installer customers and supports store management in task accomplishment.
Essential Job Functions
Follow and promote all company customer service programs (Hi‑5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, etc.).
Greet and assist retail/walk‑in customers, and telephone callers, providing parts information, quotes, and recommendations.
Assist managers or installer service specialists with professional customer service as directed.
Complete assigned company training.
Maintain cash drawer, process cash, checks, credit card transactions, and exchanges/returns.
Resolve customer complaints politely.
Assist with daily image maker/planogram updates, freight receipt, stocking, and cleaning.
Handle daily operational tasks such as preparing merchandise returns, monthly stock adjustments, and inventory cycle counts.
Operate brake lathe and other test equipment following training.
Perform in‑store services (e.g., install wipers, test batteries, scan codes) when permitted by state/local law.
Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle under company‑mandated eligibility requirements.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills / Education / Knowledge / Experience / Abilities Required
Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
Provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
Multitask customers on phone and in store simultaneously.
Desired
Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, and the warehouse index system.
ASE certification.
Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired). Bilingual encouraged.
