Summary The Materials Manager is a mid‑level role responsible for the strategic and operational management of all materials functions within the Repair Station. This position ensures optimal support to engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations. The Materials Manager oversees the full spectrum of materials control including procurement, receiving, inventory management, and logistics while maintaining strict compliance with FAA, EASA, DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulatory standards. The role reports to the Supply Chain and Logistics Director and carries overall responsibility for the stockroom and materials management.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in supply chain management, materials, or purchasing, with at least three (3) years in a leadership capacity within an aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment.

Prefer supply chain related experience in aviation MRO environment supporting at least one or more engine product lines. Engine product lines include:

GE: CF6, CF34, GE90

CFMI: CFM56‑3/‑5/‑7

PW: PW2000, PW4000

IAE: V2500

RR: RB211, Trent Engine Series

Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex material flow in high‑turnaround environments, including experience in engine shipping/receiving, repair part traceability, and regulatory documentation control.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and control all stockroom, materials, and logistics operations in SAP Business One.

Ensure identification, control, segregation, and preservation of all parts, tooling, and consumables in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Manage inventory accuracy through robust cycle‑counting and reconciliation programs; lead physical inventory audits as required.

Maintain and monitor stock and PAR levels to align with production forecasts and engine program requirements.

Submit and manage purchase orders to ensure on‑time part availability while optimizing working capital.

Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, and Finance to support operational objectives and financial alignment.

Verify Goods Receipt documentation for all incoming materials; ensure traceability through proper receiving inspection coordination.

Maintain compliance with OEM handling, storage, and preservation requirements, including temperature‑and‑humidity‑controlled materials.

Develop and maintain vendor and repair shop relationships to ensure performance reliability and cost competitiveness.

Generate and interpret materials and logistics performance reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Ensure proper storage and labeling of customer‑supplied material in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Enforce strict compliance with all safety, environmental, and security standards.

Ensure an adequate supply of current firefighting, spill, and safety equipment is provided for all applicable areas within the facility and Pem‑Air work vehicles.

Core Competency Requirements

Deep understanding of aviation supply chain management principles and regulatory compliance within an FAA/EASA‑certified Repair Station.

Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and evaluate performance of logistics and stockroom personnel.

Highly organized and capable of managing multiple concurrent priorities under tight time constraints.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a proven record of process optimization and cost reduction.

Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, across all levels of the organization and with external partners.

Thorough knowledge of outside parts repair processes, component preservation, and shelf‑life control.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SAP Business One (preferred).

Ability to interpret and apply OEM technical documentation, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and regulatory requirements.

Must possess strong analytical skills including attention to detail, with a track record of improving supply chain processes.

Strong multitasking capability with ability to function effectively under pressure and time constraints.

Requires the ability to manage responsibilities and perform assigned duties and tasks without supervision.

Education Requirements

Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.

Equivalent professional experience in aviation logistics or materials management may be considered in lieu of degree.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform prolonged standing or sitting as required.

When necessary and applicable, must be able to utilize and wear various Personal Protective Equipment, including eye protection.

Additional Requirements

Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Experience in SAP, preferred.

Must have knowledge of, and the ability to navigate, research, utilize, and apply several types of technical data, including Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals and regulatory agency data (e.g., Airworthiness Directives).

A valid Florida issued Driver’s License (required for Powered Industrial Truck Operation – ePicker and / or Forklift).
