Job Description
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients, providing skilled phlebotomy services and ensuring the integrity of specimens for testing. This position involves direct patient interaction, requiring professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality. The PSR II draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures. The role may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center, or other sites based on business needs. Responsibilities
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor. Maintain a safe, professional, and clean work environment. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence. Verify patient demographic information and ensure all tubes are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence. Maintain accurate records and required documentation. Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public. Provide superior customer service and ensure quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting. Work independently with minimal on-site supervision. Handle multiple priorities and tasks in a high-volume environment. Travel to multiple locations as needed and provide coverage at other sites with minimal notice. Comply with all company policies, safety guidelines, and dress code requirements. Requirement/Must Have
Ability to deliver quality work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable). Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Superior customer service and teamwork skills. Experience
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (required). 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred). Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (strongly preferred). Keyboarding and data entry experience. Qualification And Education
High school diploma or equivalent (required). Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).
