Details Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Mental Health Unit PRN Status Day Shift Pay: $20.37 - $29.54 / hour Summary This position plans, organizes, coordinates, schedules, and implements activities in the unit, including responsibilities for patient documentation and monthly reports. This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System. Duties Interviews, assesses, and develops treatment plans, reassessing and developing plans in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations. Participates in interdisciplinary team care planning, integrating recreational therapy services into the plan of care, and participates in staff meetings, special committees, and educational opportunities to maintain professional certification/qualifications. Provides group and/or individual treatment services according to the established treatment plan. Maintains documentation to reflect the services provided and enters progress notes in the individual patient/resident medical record, participating in writing discharge summaries for each patient. Maintains activity supplies and equipment, ensuring safety in storage and use, and makes supplies and equipment accessible to patients for individual leisure pursuits. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree from a four-year college or university in therapeutic recreation or a recreation degree with a therapeutic emphasis. Eligible for certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). Must obtain CTRS certification within one year of hire. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire. Completion of a full-time ten-week clinical internship program.
