
Job Description
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients who come in for routine health visits or diagnostic testing.
The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures.
This position requires direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while performing procedures safely, skillfully, and accurately.
The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
Successful candidates may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center, or other designated business sites as needed.
Responsibilities
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established procedures.
Verify patient demographic information and signatures post‑venipuncture to confirm accurate labeling.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and employees.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including dress code, safety, and guiding principles.
Exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on established procedures.
Travel as required to provide coverage for multiple locations with minimal notice.
Handle multiple priorities efficiently in a high‑volume setting.
Demonstrate superior customer focus and effective communication with peers, supervisors, and patients.
Embrace change and demonstrate knowledge of the organization’s business.
Requirements / Must Have
Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
Willingness to work flexible hours and cover multiple sites as needed.
Experience
Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Minimum of two years in a patient service center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Keyboarding and data entry experience required.
Qualification And Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
