Job Summary The Commercial Relationship Officer (C&I) is responsible for developing and managing high-quality commercial and industrial loan relationships, with a primary focus on operating lines of credit, equipment financing, commercial vehicles, and asset-based lending. This role involves proactive business development, financial analysis, credit structuring, and portfolio management to support local businesses and strengthen the credit union's commercial loan portfolio.

Duties/Responsibilities
Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with business members, centers of influence, and community partners.
Generate new C&I loan opportunities through proactive calling, networking, and referral cultivation.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned business members, ensuring timely and professional service delivery.
Represent the credit union at industry events, chamber meetings, and community functions.
Evaluate borrower financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and guarantor strength to structure credit facilities that meet both member needs and credit union risk standards.
Work closely with credit analysts and underwriting staff to prepare and present complete, accurate credit packages.
Structure and recommend credit terms, including lines of credit, equipment loans, working capital loans, and asset-based facilities.
Ensure all loans conform to internal policy, regulatory requirements, and sound banking practices.
Monitor loan performance, borrowing base certificates, collateral trends, and covenant compliance.
Proactively identify early warning signs of risk or credit deterioration and take corrective action.
Conduct portfolio reviews and annual loan renewals.
Maintain detailed and current documentation in compliance with policy and regulatory standards.
Partner with Treasury Management, Deposit Operations, and other departments to deliver holistic financial solutions.
Provide consultative guidance to members on cash-flow management, equipment acquisition, and working capital optimization.
Ensure prompt response to member inquiries and high satisfaction throughout the relationship lifecycle.

Proven track record in business development.
Familiarity with NCUA commercial lending regulations preferred.
Job Related Travel - As required.
Education/Experience
Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, in addition to 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial lending, relationship management, or business banking.
