Job Responsibilities

Lead all Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) activities for a single manufacturing site with approximately 30–35 employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Serve as the primary site representative and liaison with environmental and safety regulatory agencies, including permit management, audits, and inspections.

Develop, implement, and maintain site safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with corporate standards and regulations.

Plan, deliver, and document all required HSE training, including new employee orientation, job‑specific training, contractor training, and refresher programs.

Lead incident, accident, and near‑miss investigations; analyze data to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities, serving as the site Emergency Coordinator and leading drills and response planning.

Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses (including PSM and hazard studies), management of change activities, and periodic site inspections.

Manage hazardous waste and internal waste programs, including storage, handling, disposal, and energy and waste reduction initiatives.

Perform and manage compliance audits, reporting, documentation, and tracking through the Compliance Calendar, SAQ protocol, and corporate requirements.

Provide safety leadership and continuous improvement by supporting behavior‑based safety programs, safety committees, global HSE&S initiatives, and special site projects.

Level of Autonomy

Has some authority to make decisions independently.

More challenging decisions require approval from higher manager/supervisor

Job Requirements

Post‑secondary education degree or 2–4+ years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Experience in the coatings, chemical, or paint industry; bulk petroleum regulatory knowledge helpful.

Strong knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements and experience identifying and managing compliance risks.

Proven experience conducting job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and facility audits.

Ability to develop and deliver EHS training for small to medium‑sized groups and coach employees effectively.

Demonstrated safety leadership, integrity, and ability to influence positive change across all levels of the organization.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.

Total Compensation

The salary range for these skills is $75,000 to $84,000, plus a 5% STI. This is negotiable based on years of experience and qualifications.
