Community Engagement Specialist (VISTA)
The Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD) was founded in 2005 in the Vernon Central Neighborhood of South Los Angeles by residents and community leaders to revitalize the area after decades of disinvestment and improve quality of life. CRCD serves 100% low to moderate income residents, focusing on individuals and families involved with homeless services and child welfare systems. The organization employs a holistic community economic development approach, providing innovative support and intervention models in K‑14 education, workforce development, business development, social enterprise, homeless services, and affordable and permanent housing development.
Member Duties The Community Engagement Specialist VISTA will strengthen CRCD’s organizational capacity to support community‑centered work in South Los Angeles by building internal systems, tools, and processes that enable coordinated and sustainable engagement with partners and stakeholders. This role does not involve direct outreach but provides a meaningful opportunity to contribute to long‑term community impact.
Responsibilities include:
Develop internal engagement plans, stakeholder tracking systems, asset maps for partnerships, feedback tools, facilitation guides, and reporting templates that support initiatives related to affordable and permanent supportive housing, workforce development, education, and access to capital.
Organize and maintain engagement‑related information to support consistency and alignment across teams.
