About The Role Picture the start of your day: you check in with the Electrical Manager, review priorities, and gear up for a safe, productive shift. As the Heavy Industrial Foundry Power & Controls Electrician, you’ll handle both production and maintenance electrical assignments across a busy metal-casting facility. Your work keeps equipment running, panels neat and compliant, and the operation moving smoothly.
A Day in the Life
Begin with a safety-first mindset—protect yourself and teammates at all times.
Model and reinforce BCT’s Culture and Core Values throughout the shop.
Lay out and install wiring and circuits in accordance with established codes and plant standards.
Interpret electrical schematics to wire machines and control panels with precision.
Partner closely with assembly and engineering teams to complete builds and upgrades.
Use hand and power tools correctly and efficiently.
Build high-quality panels with exceptional attention to detail.
Troubleshoot electrical issues on new and used equipment in-house.
Bend conduit (EMT/RMC) and route cabling cleanly.
Work at heights using ladders, scissor lifts, and articulating lifts; move/push/pull/lift moderately heavy items.
Juggle multiple priorities while staying organized and focused on details.
Reporting You’ll work under the direction of the Electrical Manager and complete assigned electrical work spanning both maintenance and production needs.
What You’ll Bring
Clear, professional communication and the ability to collaborate well with others.
Proficiency with common hand and power tools.
Valid driver’s license.
Strong electrical wiring and conduit knowledge plus proven troubleshooting ability.
Skill in conduit bending (EMT, RMC).
Ability to read electrical machine drawings and schematics.
Basic computer skills.
Organization and time management to manage several priorities at once with accuracy.
Education & Experience
Journeyman or Master Electrician license; or
Five to seven (5–7) years of related experience; or
Ten to twelve (10–12) years of progressively responsible related experience; or
A comparable combination of education and experience.
Experience with PLCs, control systems, and root cause analysis is preferred but not required.
