Job Details
3–5+ years of commercial loan underwriting experience, with a minimum of 2 years specifically focused on SBA 504 loans.
Strong understanding of SBA SOP guidelines, 504 loan structures, eligibility rules, occupancy requirements, and collateral standards.
Prior experience working with a Certified Development Company (CDC), commercial bank, or non-bank SBA lender preferred.
Demonstrated ability to analyze owner-occupied commercial real estate and major equipment financing transactions.
Proficiency in spreading financials, creating projections, and performing detailed cash‑flow analysis.
Ability to review and assess business financial statements, including tax returns, P&Ls, balance sheets, and aging reports.
Experience preparing detailed credit memos for internal committees, lenders, and SBA submission.
Exceptional analytical and critical‑thinking abilities with high attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with borrowers, lenders, CDC staff, appraisers, escrow officers, and SBA reviewers.
Ability to manage a high‑volume pipeline and meet strict deadlines.
Organized, self‑motivated, and capable of producing clear, concise underwriting summaries.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or related field preferred.
