What we do The Driver License section provides Colorado credentials to residents throughout the state, including driver licenses, instruction permits, commercial driver licenses, and identification cards.
DMV Advisor/Greeter Role This position will work at the front reception desk, greeting customers as they enter the building and directing them to the appropriate services based on their needs.
The purpose of this position is to streamline office services, address customer concerns, and reduce transaction and wait times for customer‑facing offices.
The main duties revolve around welcoming and advising customers at the Colorado Springs DMV office. This position is the first point of contact with DMV customers, establishing the beginning of the customer experience for that office.
Responsibilities
Acts as the gatekeeper for the office to ensure the smooth workflow for employees and customers.
Establishes and maintains constructive and cooperative interpersonal relationships with DMV employees and customers.
Assists customers with use of the appointment kiosk, website, online portal or other DMV convenience service offerings.
Checks customers in for appointments and other DMV interactions at the office.
Works with walk‑in customers to assist and provide the best customer experience possible.
Organizes the customer workflow for the office.
Conducts vision testing as needed.
Additional Administrative Support
Contacting customers as needed.
Reviewing source documents and other information to ensure the customer is ready to meet with the appropriate technician.
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Assisting with other office support including stocking and cleaning the greeter/advisor station.
Residency Requirement This posting is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application. Minimum Qualifications Experience Only:
One (1) year of Customer Service or Receptionist experience or other relevant work experience.
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant Customer Service or Receptionist experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to one (1) year.

State experience in a work environment in which laws, rules, and regulations are put into place.
Excellent Customer service skills, including utilizing conflict resolution techniques.

Collaboration and teamwork skills.

As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations. All employees must undergo a pre‑employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.
Vehicle and Driving Standards Any worker who will be expected to drive a state‑owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any state‑owned vehicle. To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy, motor vehicle records will be pulled for review for workers who have an assigned state fleet vehicle, are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position, or utilize a state fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle.
