Salary:
$25 - $27 per hour
Job Summary:
The postdoc candidate is expected to perform research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator in the DDBS department within the College of Pharmacy. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for the following duties:
Design and synthesize potential bioactive compounds
Develop synthetic methodology for the synthesis of compounds of interest
Characterize compounds synthesized
Conduct lab experiments, collect and analyze data, and report experimental data
Teach graduate and/or undergraduate students lab techniques
Ensure all tasks are accomplished on time and to the highest standard
Engage in shared lab duties including maintenance of instruments and apparatus, lab safety and lab cleaning
Prepare weekly progress reports and attend weekly group meetings
Qualifications:
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:
Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related discipline
Expertise in design and execution of organic reactions, analysis and interpretation of spectroscopic data (HPLC, NMR, Mass Spec)
Strong independent problem‑solving skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated research accomplishments
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
Ability to work in a team environment
