Location: Wood Dale, IL; Irving, TX

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Ocean Import Senior Associate to join our logistics team in Irving, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ocean import operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex shipments efficiently. This role is critical in ensuring smooth import processes and maintaining strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate ocean import shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

Prepare and review import documentation including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and commercial invoices.

Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and vendors to resolve shipment issues and delays.

Track shipments and provide status updates to internal teams and customers.

Ensure compliance with all import regulations and company policies.

Assist in the resolution of claims related to damaged or lost cargo.

Collaborate with customs brokers to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.

Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize ocean import processes.

Qualifications

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in ocean import logistics or freight forwarding.

Strong knowledge of ocean import documentation, customs regulations, and international shipping procedures.

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and external partners.

Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with customs compliance and import regulations preferred.

Advanced level of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint preferred.

Bi-lingual (English and Korean) preferred.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field is preferred.
