Join Ferguson’s 12‑month Sales Trainee Program (STP) and kickstart a rewarding career in sales. This rotational program accelerates your development by exposing you to multiple aspects of the business, providing guided training, on‑the‑job learning, and formal mentorship.
The program starts on February 16, 2026 and spans one year. Throughout the year you will rotate through workshops, product training, and real‑world sales scenarios. You will shadow seasoned sales professionals, observe the full sales cycle, and receive continuous feedback and performance evaluations.
Program Structure
Learn:
Participate in workshops, programs, and other learning opportunities to enhance your sales skills and industry knowledge. Engage actively in training sessions to understand the company’s products, services, sales techniques, and processes.
Shadow:
Observe experienced sales professionals in client interactions, sales strategies, negotiation techniques, and the entire sales process from prospecting to closing deals, including customer relationship management and post‑sale support.
Develop:
Seek feedback from mentors, supervisors, and peers; complete performance evaluations and assessments to track progress, identify strengths and improvement areas, and set professional development goals.

Program Graduation Upon successful completion, graduates move into one of Ferguson’s sales destination roles. The final placement considers individual preferences and business needs.
Responsibilities
Provide support to the sales team in outlining project tasks and timelines, prospecting for new leads, and handling customer inquiries.
Assist in developing sales proposals, contracts, and other documentation required for closing deals.
Coordinate tasks, track progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables for sales projects and initiatives.
Engage with customers to understand their needs, address inquiries, and provide information about products or services.
Collect customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities and enhance the overall customer experience.
Take initiative to learn new sales techniques, tools, and technologies that contribute to your success.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; 1‑3 years of experience accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Strong desire to work in a sales‑focused role and to learn about Ferguson’s products, services, sales technologies, and processes.
Self‑motivated with a track record of driving results.
Excellent customer‑service orientation and ability to address customer needs effectively.
Flexible and open to change.
Previous professional experience or internships in sales preferred.
