Rheumatology Consultant The closing date is 18 January 2026
We are looking to appoint a Consultant Rheumatologist to further develop our highly rated Rheumatology services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity, and it is anticipated that there will be occasion for the appointee to develop a sub‑specialty interest within the role.
Applicants will be expected to have completed broad‑based general medical training along with specific training in Rheumatology and to have gained a CCT in Rheumatology or Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine or be within six months of obtaining this.
The post will suit individuals with the desire and resolve to provide modern, high‑quality care. We will also consider flexible working options, subject to the exigencies of the service.

Person Specification Qualifications
MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise and entry on GMC specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview.
Specialist interest or additional qualifications in other areas of specialty.
Experience
Experience of participation in CPD.
Experience in a similar post.
Skills
Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
Clinical supervision experience/skills
Ability to undertake training/mentoring of clinical staff and enthusiasm for education
